2021 Ford Ranger Tremor SEMA Show Truck Ready to Shake Up Some Adventure

2021 Ford Ranger Tremor SEMA Show Truck Ready to Shake Up Some Adventure

The pandemic has cancelled just about every big event in 2020, including the annual automotive spectacle that is the SEMA Show. In normal times, SEMA would already be behind us by now. But this year the world’s largest automotive aftermarket show is going virtual, and once again Ford is rolling deep with its modified vehicle debuts. Revealed online alongside a Mustang Mach-E drift car, overland-prepped Bronco Sport, two-door Bronco built for the dunes, and others, this custom 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor makes us want to escape the confines of our home offices and enjoy the great outdoors.

The truck began life as a 2021 Ford Ranger XLT Tremor SuperCrew and was transformed by Ford’s vehicle personalization team into the wilderness-ready vehicle you see here. The build mostly uses parts available through and branded by Ford Performance, including the cat-back exhaust by Borla, rear differential cover, hood hinge auxiliary lights and bumper-mounted fog lights by Rigid, off-road recovery boards, a portable air compressor by ARB, and a standard-duty off-road recovery kit by Warn.

ARB supplied other goodies like the safari snorkel, Elements refrigerator mounted to a bed slider, and tie-down kit. Meanwhile, all the recreational gear comes courtesy of Yakima, including the OverHaul HD bed rack with accessory side bars, FrontLoader bike mount, JayLow kayak mount, and “SlimShady” awning.

Beyond all that, though, this show truck is pretty much a stock Ford Ranger Tremor with sweet body stripes. As a refresher, the Tremor package gets you special Fox 2.0 monotube shocks with remote reservoirs, performance-tuned front coilover springs and rear leaf springs, a frame-mounted front bash plate, skid plates, and an exclusive set of 17-inch wheels wrapped in 32-inch General Grabber All-Terrain tires. Like all Rangers, the Tremor is powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo-four mated to a 10-speed automatic and good for 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque.

Though SEMA isn’t quite the same without the vast sea of sweaty bodies and overwhelming, ADD-triggering number of cars, we’re glad OEMs are still showing off their best custom builds, even if only digitally. This outdoors-oriented Ranger is just what we need right now.
