1988 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV Appears at Auction

1988 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV Appears at Auction

While the original Lamborghini Countach in The Wolf of Wall Street was purposefully crashed on set and hasn’t been seen again since, another white 1988 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV has appeared at auction. First introduced as a prototype back in 1971, the Countach was designed by Marcello Gandini to feature angular wedge-shaped styling and scissor doors.

The 5000 QV model first appeared in 1985 featuring Kevlar front and rear deck lids, and the Countach in focus is one of 658 models produced between 1988 and 1990 in celebration of Lamborghini’s 25th anniversary. Distinct features include a V-shaped rear wing, US-market lighting, European-style front bumper, 15″ OZ Racing wheels, and Pirelli P Zero tires.

Less than 7,300 miles are shown on the odometer and the 5.2-liter V12 engine equipped with a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection is rated at 414 horsepower. Additional accessories include a dark brown dash pad, Alpine cassette stereo, digital Veglia clock, and a gated shifter.

Offered via dealer consignment with a Florida title, the Countach recently failed to hit the reserve price with the highest bid set at $560,000 USD. Look for the car to pop up again in the near future.
