West Ham United are thought to be keeping tabs on the Belgian midfielder Hans Vanaken.
According to Voetbal24, the Club Brugge midfielder could be up for grabs this summer and the Hammers could reignite their interest in the 28-year-old.
Apparently, the Premier League side wanted to sign the Belgian last summer as well.
The report adds that West Ham were keen on paying €15 million for the midfielder last summer and it will be interesting to see if the Hammers are willing to come forward with a concrete offer in the coming weeks.
The attacking midfielder was valued at around €15 million at the start of the campaign but he could be signed for less this summer.
The Hammers could certainly use more creativity in the midfield and the 28-year-old could prove to be a smart addition.
Vanaken will add goals and assists to the West Ham midfield. The 28-year-old chipped in with 16 goals and 7 assists this past season.
David Moyes’ side will be playing Europa League football next season and they need to add more depth and quality to the side in order to cope with the increased number of fixtures. Players like Vanaken could prove to be very useful for the Londoners next year.
The 28-year-old scored 3 goals in 6 Champions League games this past season and he knows what it takes to succeed in the European competitions. His European experience could prove to be useful for the West Ham dressing room.
